West Yorkshire Police (WYP) have become the first police force in the UK to allow recipients of a NIP to submit their admission online.
WYP, who have been using the StarPortal online platform from StarTraq since 2020, have now implemented additional functionality on the portal to facilitate online admissions.
This additional online functionality now allows all recipients of a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) from WYP to respond online – whether to submit a nomination or to admit to an offence, dramatically increasing back-office efficiencies.
The admissions module went live in early December 2021 and in the first month has led to 5,000 admissions being submitted online.
