Welcome to another Dome tutorial, this video will show you how to manage the different road types in your system.
To access the ‘Road types’ menu, click ‘Manage’, highlight ‘Locations’ and then click on the ‘Road types’ sub-menu.
Displayed in front of you will be a list of all the Road types in your system for example Motorways or A-Roads. Depending on the number of locations you cover, the Road types may be displayed over a couple of pages. To find the record more quickly, use the search bar located in the top left corner of the page.
To create a new Road type, click the ‘New’ button in the bottom left corner. A dialogue box will appear, to create a new Road type:
Enter the name of the new road type
Enter a PentiP export code if applicable
The name field is a mandatory field so this must be populated in order to save the Road type details back to the Dome.
The Speed Limits tab will display a list of the speed limits for the different vehicles types against a road type. These speed limits are assigned in the speed limits sub-menu.
When complete, click ‘Save’ or if you want to continue adding new Road types to the system, click ‘Save and Continue’.
Editing a Road type is the same process, only instead of clicking on the ‘New’ button, you simply click on the Road type you wish to edit.
Administrators can also delete multiple Road types. To do this tick the radio button to the left of one or more of the Road types and click the ‘Delete’ button in the bottom left-hand corner.
Finally, administrators may wish to export a list of the Road types on the system. To do this simply click the ‘Excel’ icon in the bottom left.
