Welcome to another Dome tutorial, this video will give you an overview of the DomeForOutlook plugin.
The plugin allows you to create correspondence using the familiar tools available in Microsoft Outlook whilst being able to pull offence information from StarTraq Dome’s database.
To use the plugin, users will need to either compose a new e-mail or reply to an existing email.
The DomeForOutlook ribbon is made up of the following sections:
- The ‘Load offence’ section is where you will search for the offence you require. You can search for an offence using the NIP number, the film number, or the frame number. The recent offences drop-down list will display the last 20 offences you have recently viewed in the Dome. Once you have selected the offence you require, clicking on the load offence button will make the merge fields available.
- ‘Offence details’ contains drop down lists of all the merge fields available where DomeForOffice can retrieve information from the Dome. This includes information on the offender, offence properties, vehicle information, offence location and any images related to that offence.
- Help displays the current version of the plugin you are using and gives you access to the error logs should you need further support.
The plug-in will also allow you to save emails received from offenders or any correspondence relevant to the offence.
To do this simply right click on the email you want saved into the Dome and select Save to StarDome from the menu. Then to save the email, you can select the offence number from the Select menu drop down list. The list will contain the last 24 offences you accessed in the Dome.
Alternatively, you can type in the NIP number or film/frame number. There is also an option to save the email to additional offences if needed. Click on Add additional offences to this. Next choose the Document type from the drop-down list available. All document types in the Dome will be available, including, DFO incoming email if that’s the most relevant.
Then give your document a name, select to the check box to include images or attachments if required and then press Save. The email will be saved within the Documents section in the Dome.
