Kent County Council chooses StarTraq’s cloud-based permits and licensing software, StarGo.

StarTraq is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a contract by Kent County Council to provide our cloud-based highways permit and licensing software, StarGo.

Currently, Kent County Council’s highways permit applications are a mixture of paper-based and online services. A key challenge for Kent CC is how to consolidate all these services into one single system. To solve this issue, they have invested in StarGo, a cloud-based end-to-end permit and licensing solution from StarTraq. Already a huge success in Cardiff County Council, StarGo will digitise the application, management and payment of permits and licences in Kent for:

  • Skips
  • Scaffolding
  • Hoarding
  • Cranes / MEWPS / Cherry Pickers
  • Materials
  • Tables & Chairs

Residents will benefit from applying, managing, and paying for licences via an online application portal that they can access via a desktop computer or smart device. Kent County Council staff and Highways Inspectors will approve and manage permit applications via a dedicated back-office solution. To increase compliance, Inspectors can check the validity of a permit whilst out in the field via their smartphone or tabletAll licence information will be uploaded via an API to the DfT Street Manager system..

The system is due to go live in summer 2021.
