NEW ROLE AT STARTRAQ FOR HEAD OF MIDLANDS SAFETY CAMERAS

Andrew Pearce, former chief executive officer of the West Midlands Safety Camera Partnership has joined Oxfordshire based StarTraq as their new director of strategy.

Andrew who developed the Camera Safety Partnership into the second largest organisation of its kind outside London, managing 350 safety cameras across the region, said: “With West Midlands Police, the partnership chose StarTraq for a major IT contract and we were not disappointed. StarTraq always impressed us with their professionalism and drive.

“I’m delighted to be ‘on the inside’ now, taking the company into new markets. With the people and approach we have, the sky is the limit.”

Allan Freinkel, StarTraq managing director, said: “Andrew has an outstanding track record and we are delighted to welcome him to the StarTraq team.”

Andrew’s key role in his new post will be to fulfil the company’s potential in new software markets. He is particularly keen to explore public sector opportunities, by building a dialogue between this emerging market and StarTraq to ensure that the company’s skills and expertise are fully understood.

In his new role, he will draw on previous experience working in leading UK consultancies, growing new business areas and managing high profile projects such as improvements to the M6, M5 and M42 motorways.

Other highlights include receiving a national road safety award on behalf of the West Midlands Safety Camera Partnership, in recognition of its unique driver research and anti-speeding publicity. The partnership, which employs 70 staff, has reduced fatal and serious casualties by 39 per cent at crash blackspots.

Andrew, 39, has a BSc (Hons) in Management and Transport. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport.
