Partner FAQs
How can we make money from the StarTraq Partner Programme?
The StarTraq Partner Programme specifically targets manufacturers, systems integrators, value added resellers, for example Enforcement Camera manufacturers/resellers. Whenever an approved StarTraq partner submits a tender to a customer, it is our intention that StarTraq will deliver the back-office solution. Our partners will therefore make their revenue from sales of their own hardware and services as well as making a margin on the StarTraq solutions due to partner discounts applied. Because of the nature of the solutions and the business models supported, revenue stream is likely to continue over a long period.
Who provides front line support to the client?
First-line client support will be provided by the client's internal IT infrastructure supported by FAQs and knowledge base behind a secure login. We will train you to provide office-hours support in your own territory and time-zone directly to your clients. Finally, StarTraq will provide you with third-line support via email and telephone during UK office hours.
Is the StarTraq solution secure?
StarTraq's solutions are built with security in mind. StarTraq partners with world-leading hosting companies which have met the very highest standards, both in terms of data and physical security. For added security, all StarTraq services run on a dedicated StarTraq server, behind our own dedicated hardware firewall. Hardware and software backups are on a managed basis, and frequent scheduled backups are made of all data held.
How do you recommend I train my staff in selling StarTraq solutions?
We will provide you with everything you need in order to understand how the StarTraq solutions work from end to end. We will provide you with training materials, extensive technical FAQs and instruction manuals, as well as the usual support offered by telephone and email during UK office hours.
We are a multinational company with clients around the world; is it possible to have multi-region agreements?
In short, yes! We are very flexible in our approach to working with partners and resellers, but we would probably want to start with one territory through a master agreement with a discount structure specified, and then add new territories on a case by case basis. Our policy is “never say never”; should you have a specific requirement, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We have a great opportunity within a given territory; can you give us exclusive access to that territory?
We will not generally sign over exclusive rights within a given territory, but may be able to come to a short-term agreement here on a case by case basis. However, we will not compete with you directly in your territory, and you will be assigned a partner discount pro-rata the sales you generate. Hence you will be able to put together a highly competitive tender within your assigned territory.
How do I protect my relationship with my customer?
StarTraq has no contract with your customers, as that is your business. Our contract is with you, and so we will position ourselves to promote a long term mutually beneficial relationship.
What else will my customer need to purchase or provide?
If your customers are processing offences from digital sources alone, then we can offer them a paperless solution, and they will need a range of Internet-connected PC workstations to match the number of operators who will be loading offences. The speed of the Internet connection is important as all images will be uploaded to the database sitting within the StarTraq cloud. Customers processing offences from wet film cameras running 35mm roll-film will require a negative scanner, which StarTraq will be able to provide subject to availability. If a customer wishes to process ticket-based offences through the system, then some form of high volume scanner will be required. StarTraq will advise on the type of scanner required, but it may be possible to make use of an existing scanner utilised elsewhere in the customer workflow.

StarTraq remains flexible with its partners in order to empower them as much as possible. The models we currently employ are as follows:
-
Pay-As-You-Go: this model is based on a per-offence charge, to be paid on a monthly basis. The Pay-As-You-Go model offers the client the most flexibility and is generally recognised as the model of choice.
-
Contract: a yearly estimate of offences is agreed upon at the outset. A per-offence payment is charged to the client in advance. Offences beyond the agreed amount are charged at an agreed rate.
-
Cost Per Camera: based on the number of cameras to be used by the client, StarTraq charges an upfront license fee plus a yearly maintenance charge.
